Job summary

LUZA Group in Lisbon is actively seeking a Senior Engineer to design, support, and modernize IBM WebSphere infrastructure across Windows and Linux platforms. You will manage middleware, virtualization, storage, and backup while ensuring high availability and performance.

This role embraces a hybrid work model with remote work whenever possible, and offers equipment and health coverage as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Senior Engineer with strong IBM WebSphere / Middleware experience.
• Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere and Hyper-V.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu).
• Experience with SAN, storage, datastores and file systems.
• Good knowledge of Veeam Backup & Replication.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across WebSphere, servers, OS and infrastructure.
• Proactive mindset towards modernization, automation and operational reliability.

Responsibilities

• Design and support the Private Cloud infrastructure hosting WebSphere environments.
• Manage and maintain IBM WebSphere Application Server platforms and related middleware components.
• Ensure availability, performance and stability of WebSphere and underlying infrastructure.
• Support virtualization, compute, storage and backup platforms.
• Lead lifecycle, obsolescence and modernization initiatives.
• Perform capacity, performance and infrastructure health assessments.
• Troubleshoot complex WebSphere, OS and infrastructure issues.
• Identify and reduce operational and infrastructure risks.
• Drive continuous improvement and platform reliability.
