ITDS in Lisbon offers a hybrid role for a Senior Middleware Operations Engineer to support a financial services client in modernizing WebSphere estates toward Liberty. You will ensure platform stability, handle incidents, and drive migration activities in a high-stakes environment.

The role emphasizes automation using Ansible, XL Deploy, XL Release, and scripting in shell and Python, with a focus on performance tuning and high availability.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of WebSphere Application Server administration and middleware operations.
• Proven migration experience from WebSphere ND/Base to Liberty.
• Experience with monitoring, incident management, troubleshooting and service restoration.
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix, JVM basics, logs analysis, and runtime topics.
• Experience with deployment/orchestration tools (XL Deploy/XL Release) and automation (Ansible).

Responsabilidades

• Ensure stability, support, and operational excellence of WebSphere in production.
• Manage incident handling, troubleshooting, resets, and service recovery.
• Collaborate on migrations and obsolescence management.
• Automate tasks with Ansible, XL Deploy/Release, shell scripting, and Python.
• Contribute to performance tuning and runtime stability improvements.
• Support patching, lifecycle activities, and changes in high-availability environments.
• Document runbooks and drive continuous improvement.
• Work autonomously on complex support cases and escalate risks when needed.
