Job summary

Aubay Portugal is hiring a Product Designer to lead the full design lifecycle, from UX research to high-fidelity UI prototyping, for desktop software in industrial settings.

You will translate insights into intuitive solutions, collaborate with development teams, and apply strategic thinking to complex design challenges in a hybrid work environment. A strong portfolio and English fluency are required.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years experience as Product Designer, with preference for 6+ years in software houses or tech consultancies.
• Expert proficiency in design and prototyping tools (Figma or Sketch) and high-fidelity mock-ups/prototypes.
• Experience presenting designs to internal teams and stakeholders with clear design rationale.
• Ability to work in Agile environments and apply critical thinking to design decisions.
• Advanced English (C1) for communication within an international team.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating UX research, UI design and development-ready deliverables.
• Alignment with company culture, integrity and ethics are valued; strong customer focus and teamwork encouraged.

• Lead the full product design lifecycle, from initial UX research and problem identification to UI design and high-fidelity prototyping.
• Translate complex user insights into intuitive and critically-sound design solutions, ensuring a seamless user experience.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional development teams, communicating design rationale and ensuring successful implementation of product features.
• Apply strategic thinking and critical analysis to complex design challenges, particularly for desktop software solutions in industrial settings.
• Drive user-centric design processes, focusing on end-user knowledge and mental models to create relatable user interfaces.
