Job summary

Datahouse AG seeks a Senior Software Engineer to craft scalable web applications using TypeScript and React. You will work with Node.js and GraphQL to deliver feature-rich products that empower real estate stakeholders. The team spans Switzerland and Portugal and operates within a growth-focused, Scrum environment.

You will mentor junior developers, drive code quality, and contribute to long-term project success while balancing responsibilities across a hybrid Lisbon-based office and remote work.

Qualifications

• University degree in software engineering or computer science.
• At least 3 years as a full-stack web developer on long-term projects.
• Strong in TypeScript with React, Node.js, GraphQL, REST and SQL.
• Experience with complex, scalable web applications.
• Self-organized, collaborative team player across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of scalable customer projects with high quality.
• Collaborate with Product Management and UX/UI from Switzerland and Portugal to deliver features.
• Ensure reliability through code reviews, optimization and thorough testing.
• Drive improvements in engineering processes and coding standards.
• Mentor junior engineers to foster growth.

Our team develops a web application that empowers real estate owners to understand and improve the sustainability performance of their buildings. By combining data-driven insights with intuitive planning tools, we help users assess key sustainability aspects, explore future renovation measures, and make informed decisions about their properties. Our mission is to support real estate owners on their journey toward a decarbonized future by turning complex sustainability challenges into clear, actionable strategies. As a Scrum team of eight people, we work collaboratively across different disciplines to continuously develop and improve our solution.

Your Profile

• A university degree in Software Engineering, Computer Scienceor a related field
• At least 3+ years of experience as a full-stack web developer, including meaningful contributions to a complex, long-term project
• Proficiency in a typed language like TypeScript, with hands-on experience in React, Node.js, GraphQL, RESTful APIs, and SQL
• A strong grasp of software engineering principles, design patternsand best practices to build high-quality, maintainable solutions
• A self-organized, collaborative team player eager to work with a talented and supportive team of developers and designers across Switzerland and Portugal
• Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills with the ability to approach challenges thoughtfully and effectively
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal, to ensure seamless collaboration within an international team
