Job summary

D-Orbit is seeking a Senior Software Engineer & Team Lead for the Cybersecurity Business Unit in Lisboa, Portugal. You will provide technical leadership, drive secure, scalable software solutions, and mentor a security-focused engineering team in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Based in Lisbon, the role emphasizes architecture, DevOps, and Agile practices to deliver complex projects on time while collaborating with product, QA, and operations.

Qualifications

• Approximately 5 years of experience in software development and architecture design, with a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Deep understanding of microservices and system design for scalable, reliable software.
• Hands-on DevOps practices including version control, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
• Experience deploying applications on AWS or similar cloud platforms.
• Strong Linux/UNIX knowledge.
• Proven leadership, communication, and Agile/Scrum mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction and translate architectural decisions into detailed implementation plans.
• Contribute hands-on and identify opportunities to improve processes, tooling, and adoption of new technologies.
• Oversee code reviews, enforce secure coding, testing, and CI/CD best practices.
• Lead and mentor a security engineering team, fostering collaboration and growth.
• Manage end-to-end delivery across the full software development lifecycle and coordinate with customers and stakeholders.
• Collaborate across engineering, product, QA, DevOps, and business teams to align technical direction with business goals.
