Nitro is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to strengthen our CIAM and customer journey services in a hybrid Porto setting. You will work on enhancing authentication flows, feature delivery, and production readiness of the Nitro cloud product suite.

You’ll collaborate with multiple Nitro Engineering teams and stakeholders to scale our services, ensure security and resiliency, and support cross-functional initiatives across the customer lifecycle.

Qualificações

• Experience with JVM-based languages (Java/Scala) in scalable SaaS environments.
• Ability to drive delivery from ideation to production and deployment.
• Strong communication skills to influence technical direction across teams.

The Role:

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join the team responsible for customer identity and access management (CIAM), as well as the acquisition and renewal stages of the customer journey. The successful candidate will work closely with Business Stakeholders to grow product adoption and maximise revenue, while safeguarding how our customers authenticate at scale and improving the experience they have as they sign up, purchase, and manage product access and subscriptions across their organisation.

You willjoin the existing team andcollaborate on delivering feature, security,scalability andresiliency enhancementstoour existingJava andScala code base.You will contribute tothe design of new features.You will work cross-functionally with otherNitro Engineering teamsand stakeholdersto supportthe excitingenhancements coming to the Nitro cloud product suite.

Whatwe’relooking for:

• Strong architectural thinking and ability to make strategic technical decisions that balance immediate needs with long-term sustainability
• Strong knowledge of, and professional development experience with a JVM based language, bonus points for Scala.
• Experience building SaaS products, particularly in the AWS cloud.
• Knowledge of event-driven concepts and architectures.
• Familiarity with continuous development and deployment practices.
• Ability to drive project delivery from early ideation through to production deployment.
• Commitment to software quality through clean code, testing and verification.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to influence technical direction across teams and articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
