Job summary

Efficio, a leading procurement and supply chain consultancy, seeks a Senior Software Engineer for internal products in Lisbon. You will build backend services and APIs, collaborating with cross-functional teams across Portugal and the UK to deliver scalable, secure solutions.

You will work with Python/Django on AWS, embrace CI/CD, and contribute to analytics-enabled internal tools. Strong communication and cloud experience are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong Python/Django production back-end.
• AWS experience (ECS, RDS, S3, ECR) and exposure to other clouds welcomed.
• Relational DB design and migrations (PostgreSQL preferred).
• Multi-tenant SaaS architectures and modular monoliths experience.
• RESTful APIs design/consumption and background tasks (Celery + RabbitMQ).
• Async/event-driven patterns; Git, code review, tests and coding standards.
• Strong problem solving and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain back-end services, APIs, and databases for internal products.
• Collaborate with front-end, data engineers, and product managers for end-to-end solutions.
• Ensure code quality, scalability, and performance optimisations; CI/CD on GitLab.
• Work in Agile sprints with Lisbon and UK teams; contribute to security and multi-tenant isolation.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade software; document technical decisions and processes.
