Genesys is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build next‑gen AI agent capabilities in a virtual Portugal-based environment. You will design agent-to-agent communication, MCP integrations, and workflows that chain reasoning and tool usage into production-grade automations.

The role emphasizes hands-on software engineering across distributed systems, with a focus on LLMs, A2A, and API design. A flexible, globally distributed team supports ongoing mentorship and development.

Qualificações

• What you must have: 5-6 years of professional software engineering producing production systems.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and agent frameworks.
• Familiarity with MCP and/or A2A or ability to ramp up quickly.
• Strong systems design skills including state, concurrency, and observability.
• Proficiency in TypeScript/Node or Java; experience with API design and tool-calling patterns.
• Ability to work with ambiguity and communicate complex agent behavior clearly.

Responsabilidades

• Design and build agent-to-agent (A2A) communication systems for co-operative agents.
• Build and maintain MCP servers and clients to connect agents to tools and data sources.
• Architect agentic workflows chaining reasoning and tool use into reliable automations.
• Own the full lifecycle of agent features from design to deployment and monitoring.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to translate customer needs into architectures.
• Improve reliability, latency, and cost of production agent systems.
• Contribute to internal frameworks to speed up agent development and testing.
• Stay current with evolving agent ecosystems and best practices.
