Genesys is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, AI Agents, to design and implement agent-to-agent workflows and MCP-based integrations in a remote Portugal office. You will own features from design through deployment, collaborating with product and engineering to ship production-grade automations.

You'll work with TypeScript/Node or Java, LLMS and agent frameworks, and contribute to scalable, observable systems that power enterprise customer experiences.

Qualificações

• 5-6 years of professional software engineering experience shipping production systems.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and agent frameworks.
• Familiarity with MCP (Model Context Protocol) and/or A2A concepts.
• Strong systems design skills: state, concurrency, observability in distributed settings.
• Proficiency in TypeScript/Node or Java; API design experience.
• Comfort operating with ambiguity where best practices are evolving.
• Excellent communication for explaining complex agent behavior.

Responsabilidades

• Design and build agent-to-agent communication systems for multi-agent collaboration.
• Build and maintain MCP servers and clients connecting agents to tools and data sources.
• Architect agentic workflows chaining reasoning, tool use and decisions.
• Own full lifecycle of agent features from design to deployment and monitoring.
• Partner with product and engineering to translate customer needs into architectures.
• Improve reliability, latency and cost of production agent systems.
• Contribute to internal frameworks and tooling for faster agent development.
• Stay current with evolving agent ecosystems and adopt new techniques.
