Findmore Consulting S.A. is expanding its engineering teams in Portugal to deliver robust back-end services. You will design, develop and maintain Java-based back-end systems, build REST APIs and microservices, and contribute to architecture decisions within a distributed squad across Portugal and the Netherlands.

The role emphasizes clean code, automated testing, and active participation in CI/CD, with a focus on security, performance, and maintainability. EU availability required.

Qualificações

• 6+ years of professional software development experience with Java.
• Strong knowledge of Java and Spring Boot and REST APIs.
• Experience designing microservices and scalable back-end systems.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain robust and scalable back-end services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Design and implement REST APIs and microservices, considering performance, security, maintainability, and resilience.
• Contribute to technical design and architecture decisions within the squad.
• Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code following engineering best practices.
• Maintain high standards for code reviews, automated testing and code quality.
• Support CI/CD and deployment processes, working closely with DevOps and other engineering roles.
• Troubleshoot complex technical and production issues and contribute to root‑cause analysis.
• Coach and mentor other developers, sharing knowledge and improving engineering practices within the team.
• Promote practices such as pair programming, peer reviews and continuous improvement.
• Communicate technical decisions clearly and be comfortable questioning and challenging existing solutions and ways of working.
• Collaborate effectively within a geographically distributed squad across Portugal and the Netherlands.

Requirements:

• 6+ years of professional software development experience, with strong hands‑on Java experience.
• Strong knowledge of Java and Spring Boot.
• Solid experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservices.
• Good understanding of software architecture, design patterns and clean‑code principles.
• Strong experience with automated testing, including unit and integration testing.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with public cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP is an advantage.
• Good understanding of application security and secure development practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience working in Agile / Continuous Delivery environments.
