Voxelmaps Inc. in Porto, Portugal, seeks a Senior Mapping & Localization Engineer to advance core SLAM, localization, and sensor fusion across large-scale datasets. You will design and optimize pipelines for camera geometry, LiDAR, GNSS, IMU, and graph-based optimization to improve map consistency.

The role combines robotics, photogrammetry, and geospatial systems, requiring strong C++/Python skills, 5+ years in related fields, and the ability to work across remote/hybrid/office locations.

Qualificações

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Robotics, Geomatics, Photogrammetry, Mathematics, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in robotics, mapping, computer vision, or geospatial systems.
• Strong background in SLAM, localization, sensor fusion, geometric optimization, and 3D reconstruction.
• Strong C++ and Python skills.
• Experience with numerical optimization and geometry libraries.

Responsabilidades

• Enhance SLAM pipelines to improve trajectory consistency and reduce drift.
• Improve localization robustness across multi-session and multi-sensor setups.
• Improve LiDAR and multi-modal point cloud registration pipelines.
• Develop cross-session map alignment and map merging workflows.
• Develop sensor fusion pipelines for LiDAR, cameras, GNSS, IMU, and odometry.
• Implement temporal synchronization and uncertainty-aware fusion.
• Integrate external spatial datasets into mapping pipelines.
• Design and maintain coordinate transformation frameworks.
• Implement georeferencing and transformation validation workflows.
• Support spatial accuracy assessment and error analysis.
• Maintain camera calibration and pose optimization pipelines.
• Enhance trajectory accuracy via joint optimization of sensors and pose.

Conhecimentos

Experience in robotics and mapping

5+ years in robotics, mapping, CV, or

Education in CS/Robotics/Geomatics/Ge.
