Senior Frontend Developer | Remote Role | Long term contract

Location: Remote (Portugal)

Duration: 12 month contract

As a Senior Frontend Developer, you will work in empowered, multidisciplinary teams, tackling complex challenges to deliver exceptional experiences for millions of players. You’ll own and become the subject matter expert in areas of our product and technology stack, guiding others and setting technical standards.

What You’ll Do

• Take ownership of team architecture, providing a system‑wide view and design guidance.
• Simplify existing systems by consolidating redundant processes, removing outdated code, and updating documentation.
• Write exemplary, clean code that motivates your team to follow best practices and maintain high quality.
• Drive engineering engagement best practices, including Operational Excellence, Security, and Quality, setting standards across teams.
• Resolve root causes of systemic problems, including bottlenecks that limit innovation across teams.
• Influence software decisions and build consensus when confronted with differing opinions.
• Contribute to the professional development of colleagues, improving technical knowledge and engineering practices.
• Lead large projects, dividing work effectively across team members for cohesive project delivery.
• Participate in on‑call rotations, providing excellent customer support when required.

Who You’ll Be

• Experienced in building and designing highly scalable, fault‑tolerant, always‑available systems.
• Proficient with a broad range of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
• Knowledgeable about relational and non‑relational databases, messaging queues, and concurrency.
• Experienced with cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS), containers (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Passionate about automation using scripting languages (e.g., Shell scripts).
• A strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
• Experienced in driving operational excellence, best practices, and shipping high‑quality products.
• Familiar with Agile development methodologies.
