Job summary

Capgemini Portugal is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join our Lisbon teams, contributing to the delivery of high-quality solutions within the Banking and Financial Services sector. You will own end-to-end testing across complex backend systems and design test scenarios for APIs, databases, batch processing, and workflows.

You will develop and maintain automated test suites with Karate, validate functional and non-functional requirements, manage defects, and participate in CI/CD testing

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance and software testing.
• Strong Backend Testing experience including API testing, database validation and batch processing validation.
• Hands-on test automation experience using Karate Framework.
• Solid functional and manual testing knowledge including test design, boundary testing and defect management.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute end-to-end testing activities across complex backend systems and applications.
• Design, develop, and execute test scenarios and test cases for APIs, databases, batch processing, and business-critical workflows.
• Perform backend validation including database testing, data reconciliation, and batch processing verification.
• Develop and maintain automated test suites using Karate Framework.
• Validate functional and non-functional requirements, including boundary and performance testing.
• Manage defects throughout the testing lifecycle and collaborate with development and business teams to ensure timely resolution.
• Contribute to CI/CD testing activities and quality gates within Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Work closely with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality deliverables aligned with business requirements.
