Job summary

Wire IT is seeking a Senior Mobile QA Engineer to join our fully remote team based in Portugal. You will drive quality across Android and iOS apps, define test strategies, and execute manual and automated testing in an Agile environment.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, leverage tools such as Appium, Espresso, XCUITest, Jira, and GitLab, and contribute to continual quality improvements in a fast-moving market.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Quality Assurance and Software Testing.
• Strong SDLC/STLC knowledge and test planning.
• Experience defining test strategies, plans, and defect management.
• Hands-on testing of mobile apps on Android and iOS.
• Familiar with Appium, Espresso and XCUITest; testing on devices and emulators.

Role: Senior Mobile QA Engineer

Location: 100% Remote, Portugal

Required skills:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance and Software Testing.
• Strong knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Proven experience defining test strategies, test plans, test cases, risk analysis, and defect management.
• Experience with functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Hands‑on experience testing mobile applications for Android and iOS.
• Experience with mobile testing tools such as Appium, Espresso, and XCUITest.
• Experience testing on physical mobile devices and emulators/simulators.
• Knowledge of mobile UI/UX principles, accessibility, compatibility, usability, and performance testing.
• Experience testing APIs and integrations within microservices-based architectures.
• Familiarity with Google Play Console, TestFlight, and mobile application distribution processes.
• Experience with performance monitoring, crash analytics, and tools such as Firebase App Distribution.
• Knowledge of test management and traceability tools, including Jira, RTM, GitLab, and Figma.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage priorities, and contribute to continuous quality improvement.
• Fluent Portuguese and English.

Nice to have:

• Experience defining mobile test automation strategies.
• Knowledge of BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, and Applitools.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Continuous Delivery practices.
• ISTQB Foundation Level certification or higher.
• Experience with high-traffic consumer-facing applications and digital transformation projects.
• Knowledge of app usage metrics and user feedback from the App Store and Google Play.
