Job summary

Wire IT, based in Portugal, is seeking a Senior Mobile QA Engineer to own testing strategy across mobile platforms, ensuring quality from design to release. This 100% remote role within Portugal requires hands-on testing on Android and iOS, including automation considerations, while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

You will define test plans, participate in SDLC/STLC, and work with Jira, GitLab, and Figma to trace requirements. Fluent Portuguese and English are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of QA and software testing experience.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC and STLC processes.
• Experience defining test strategies, plans, and cases.
• Hands-on mobile testing for Android and iOS.
• Experience with Appium, Espresso and XCUITest.
• Familiarity with distribution via Google Play Console and TestFlight.
• Proficient in Jira, GitLab and test management tools.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English.

Role: Senior Mobile QA Engineer

Location: 100% Remote, Portugal

Required skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance and Software Testing.
• Strong knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Proven experience defining test strategies, test plans, test cases, risk analysis, and defect management.
• Experience with functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Hands-on experience testing mobile applications for Android and iOS.
• Experience with mobile testing tools such as Appium, Espresso, and XCUITest.
• Experience testing on physical mobile devices and emulators/simulators.
• Knowledge of mobile UI/UX principles, accessibility, compatibility, usability, and performance testing.
• Experience testing APIs and integrations within microservices-based architectures.
• Familiarity with Google Play Console, TestFlight, and mobile application distribution processes.
• Experience with performance monitoring, crash analytics, and tools such as Firebase App Distribution.
• Knowledge of test management and traceability tools, including Jira, RTM, GitLab, and Figma.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage priorities, and contribute to continuous quality improvement.
• Fluent Portuguese and English.

Nice to have

• Experience defining mobile test automation strategies.
• Knowledge of BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, and Applitools.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Continuous Delivery practices.
• ISTQB Foundation Level certification or higher.
• Experience with high-traffic consumer-facing applications and digital transformation projects.
• Knowledge of app usage metrics and user feedback from the App Store and Google Play.
