Nitro in Porto, Portugal, is hiring a Senior Software Engineer - Python for a hybrid role. You will design, build, and ship production-grade Python services across REST APIs and AI-powered document processing on the Nitro Automate Platform.

You will own features end-to-end, work with a fast-paced Dublin/Porto team, and apply CI/CD, testing, and modern DevOps practices while staying current with Python and AI trends.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of backend software development with Python.
• Strong Python engineering skills: OOP, async, REST, clean architecture.
• Experience with agentic coding workflows and AI-assisted development.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB).
• Cloud-native apps on AWS or Azure using Docker, Kubernetes, IaC.
• Experience with FastAPI, Django DRF, or similar frameworks.
• CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Testing best practices.
• Excellent communication and agile teamwork.

Responsabilidades

• Designing scalable, production-grade Python services and REST APIs for document processing and workflow automation.
• Take ownership of features from spec to deployment and production support.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to boost speed and quality.
• Build and integrate with MCP servers and no-code workflow tooling.
• Develop and maintain robust automated test suites (unit, integration, end-to-end).
• Collaborate with Engineering Managers, Product, and peers in a Dublin/Porto team.
• Stay current with Python, AI/LLM tooling, and document automation Tech.
• Apply CI/CD practices for reliable, frequent releases.
• Share knowledge and mentor more junior engineers.
