Adentis Portugal is seeking a skilled Python developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable applications. You will participate in architecture discussions, ensure performance and reliability, and collaborate with product managers, designers and engineers to translate requirements into robust solutions.

The role emphasizes clean, well-tested code, code reviews, and continuous improvement of development processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional experience developing software with Python.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
• Experience with Python web frameworks such as Django, Flask, or similar.
• Relational and/or NoSQL databases experience.
• RESTful APIs and distributed system concepts familiarity.
• Git and collaborative workflows (pull requests, code reviews).
• Agile/Scrum development environment experience.
• Testing practices (unit/integration/automation).
• Cloud platform deployment/operation experience (GCP/AWS/Azure).
• CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker) or IaC concepts.
• EU citizenship or Portuguese work visa/residency.
• Availability to go to the office once per week.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Python applications.
• Contribute to architecture and technical design discussions for performance and maintainability.
• Write clean, tested, and well-documented code following team standards.
• Participate in code reviews and raise code quality.
• Integrate, test, debug, and maintain software across development, staging, and production.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate requirements into solutions.
• Estimate and prioritize feature and technical improvement requests.
• Identify and address performance, scalability, and security issues.
• Improve development processes, tooling, and engineering practices.
• Maintain up-to-date technical documentation.
