Job summary

Adentis Portugal is seeking a skilled Python developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable applications. You will participate in architecture discussions, ensure performance and reliability, and collaborate with product managers, designers and engineers to translate requirements into robust solutions.

The role emphasizes clean, well-tested code, code reviews, and continuous improvement of development processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of professional experience developing software with Python.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
• Experience with Python web frameworks such as Django, Flask, or similar.
• Relational and/or NoSQL databases experience.
• RESTful APIs and distributed system concepts familiarity.
• Git and collaborative workflows (pull requests, code reviews).
• Agile/Scrum development environment experience.
• Testing practices (unit/integration/automation).
• Cloud platform deployment/operation experience (GCP/AWS/Azure).
• CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker) or IaC concepts.
• EU citizenship or Portuguese work visa/residency.
• Availability to go to the office once per week.

Responsibilities

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 3+ years of professional experience developing software with Python
• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, design patterns)
• Experience with Python web frameworks such as Django, Flask, or similar
• Solid experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, integration patterns, and basic distributed system concepts
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows (pull requests, code reviews)
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
• Good understanding of testing practices (unit, integration, automated testing)
• Experience deploying or operating applications on cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (e.g. Docker), or infrastructure-as-code concepts
• European Union Citizenship or Portuguese Working Visa / Portuguese Residency.
