Job summary

YLD, a remote-first consultancy with teams in Lisbon, Porto and London, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design scalable, fault‑tolerant architectures for client products. You will solve complex problems, drive CI/CD adoption, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver high‑quality software.

You will mentor peers, contribute to production operations, and help shape robust, scalable systems while embracing new tech and best practices in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with modern frameworks across the stack (FastAPI, Gin, Express).
• Production experience with React, build tools, state management, responsive design.
• Comprehensive testing (unit, integration, E2E, security) and performance optimization.
• Knowledge of scalable design patterns, load balancing and high availability.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases; API development (REST/GraphQL/gRPC).
• Caching and messaging systems (Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) with Docker/Kubernetes and IaC (Terraform).
• CI/CD pipelines and observability tooling; quick debugging in production.

Responsibilities

• Crafting excellent products by building new features to meet client needs.
• Continuously delivering changes as clients move to a full CI/CD model.
• Collaborating with the team on engineering initiatives and best practices.
• Mentoring the engineering team to accelerate career growth.
• Architecting and delivering highly available, zero-downtime products.
• Overseeing production operations and monitoring in line with SLAs.
• Promoting the team’s work through regular show-and-tell sessions.
