Job summary

Essity seeks a Senior Platform Engineer for Data and Analytics to build, automate, and scale our enterprise data infrastructure. You will work across Azure, Databricks, and Power BI to enable secure, reliable, and self-serve analytics.

You will drive platform automation, CI/CD, data governance, and AI-powered automation while collaborating with global teams in a hybrid Lisbon-based role.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps or data engineering in enterprise cloud environments.
• Hands-on delivery across Azure, Databricks and data platforms.
• Strong skills in Terraform or Bicep, CI/CD, and data governance.

Responsibilities

• Platform Automation: Build and maintain Azure and Databricks infrastructure using Terraform or Bicep, covering storage, networking, access controls, and Unity Catalog.
• Continuous Delivery: Develop and operate automated CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure, Databricks workloads and Power BI using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Data Platform Engineering: Create reusable ingestion and processing capabilities using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Delta Lake, PySpark and SQL.
• Security & Governance: Strengthen platform security, access management, lineage, data quality, and governance to support trusted data and analytics.
• Reliability & Optimisation: Improve monitoring, performance, operational resilience, and cost efficiency across the platform.
• Engineering Standards: Establish good engineering practices, mentor colleagues, and support teams in using the platform effectively.
• AI-First Engineering: Identify opportunities to use AI and intelligent automation to reduce manual work and improve user experience.
