Decskill is expanding its IT consulting team in Portugal and seeks a DevOps/Platform Engineer to help build scalable cloud infrastructure and automate deployments. You will collaborate with software engineers to improve reliability and performance, leveraging AWS technologies and Terraform-based IaC.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, GitLab CI and modern CI/CD practices. Terraspace, Kafka, and Lambda/ECS Fargate exposure are highly valued.

Qualificações

• 5+ years in DevOps, Platform or Cloud Engineering roles.
• Strong hands-on AWS with EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM and CloudWatch.
• IaC experience with Terraform; Terraspace is valued.
• Knowledge of Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible and Helm for automation.
• Experience designing Terraform/IaC modules.
• Hands-on with CI/CD pipelines, GitLab CI or Jenkins/GitHub Actions.
• Git workflows, branching, MR and code review practices.
• Python and/or Bash/Zsh for automation tasks.
• Kafka experience incl. AVRO schemas and Schema Registry.
• AWS Lambda and/or AWS ECS Fargate architectures experience.
• Containerized apps and microservices experience.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering or Data Platform Engineering roles.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with AWS, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM and CloudWatch.
• Advanced experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), particularly Terraform; experience with Terraspace is highly valued.
• Strong knowledge of cloud provisioning, deployment and infrastructure automation using technologies such as Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible and Helm.
• Experience designing, developing and maintaining reusable Terraform/IaC modules.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab CI, or alternatively Jenkins/GitHub Actions.
• Solid knowledge of Git workflows, branching strategies, merge requests and code review practices.
• Programming/scripting experience with Python and/or Bash/Zsh for automation and infrastructure tooling.
• Practical experience with Apache Kafka, including cluster operations, topics, producers/consumers, AVRO schemas and Schema Registry.
• Experience with AWS Lambda and/or AWS ECS Fargate architectures.
• Experience working with containerized applications and microservices.
• Ability to understand dependencies across complex platform components and assess the impact of infrastructure changes.
• Experience reviewing infrastructure and automation code and ensuring coding standards and platform stability.
• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of technical solutions.

Nice to have: experience with Confluent Cloud, Kafka connectors (source/sink), Snowflake, data platform infrastructure, SQL, relational/non‑relational databases, data catalog/metadata management tools, and data contract standards such as ODCS. AWS certifications are also valued.
