A leading IT consulting firm is seeking a Platform Engineer for a remote project based in Portugal. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years in Data Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or DevOps, with strong expertise in AWS and Terraform. Responsibilities include designing data platform architectures, managing infrastructure, and ensuring system reliability. We are looking for a Platform Engineer for a remote project based in Portugal.

Requirements:

• +5 years of experience in Data Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering or DevOps roles in enterprise environments
• Degree in Computer Engineering, Information Systems or similar
• Strong hands-on expertise with AWS (EKS) and/or Azure (AKS)
• Deep experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code in production environments
• Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration at scale
• Experience deploying and operating data platform components such as Kafka, Elasticsearch, Airflow, NiFi, Hive or Dremio
• Experience with Helm charts and large-scale Kubernetes automation
• Strong understanding of CI/CD principles applied to data platforms
• Experience implementing monitoring and observability solutions using Prometheus, Grafana or ELK stack
• Proficiency in scripting or development with Python or Go
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across infrastructure and data layers
• Experience working in agile enterprise environments
• Fluent in written and spoken Portuguese and English.

Responsibilities:

• Design scalable, resilient, and secure data platform architectures supporting advanced analytics and AI workloads
• Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, ensuring consistent and automated provisioning of cloud resources
• Operate and optimise Kubernetes clusters (EKS/AKS), ensuring high availability and efficient container orchestration
• Develop and maintain Helm charts for deployment and version management of platform components such as Kafka, Airflow, Elasticsearch and other data services
• Implement DataOps practices including CI/CD pipelines for data platform components and automation of deployment workflows
• Establish and maintain observability standards using Prometheus, Grafana and logging frameworks to ensure proactive monitoring and reliability
• Integrate security controls into the data platform including IAM, Keycloak, and secret management solutions such as HashiCorp Vault
• Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists and platform stakeholders to enable self-service capabilities and optimise development workflows
• Ensure continuous improvement, maintenance and evolution of the data platform components
• Support technical discussions and act as a senior reference point for platform reliability and automation practices
