Job summary

Condukt is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to own the infrastructure powering our distributed systems in Porto. You’ll shape reliability, observability, and security while building paved roads for our engineers.

You’ll operate CI/CD, GCP-based deployments, and on-call incident response, collaborating with product and engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure platforms. This is a fast-growing startup with strong investors and a collaborative culture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Platform Engineer, SRE, or Senior/Staff Software Engineer in production environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with GCP or equivalent cloud platforms.
• Deep experience with Kubernetes (GKE preferred), Terraform, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Cloud Build, ArgoCD, or similar).
• Hands-on experience securing cloud infrastructure: IAM, secrets management, and vulnerability management.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines, reducing friction and improving deployment safety.
• Implement automation to reduce operational toil and improve mean time to recovery.
• Design, build, and maintain internal developer platforms that enable self-service deployments, testing, and observability.
• Define, monitor, and continuously improve SLIs and SLOs across distributed systems.
• Participate in on-call rotations, lead incident response, and run blameless post-mortems to drive long-term reliability improvements.
• Proactively identify reliability, scalability, and performance risks, and lead initiatives to improve system resilience.
• Own the security of our cloud infrastructure and delivery pipeline.
• Manage and optimize Condukt's cloud infrastructure on GCP (GKE, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, etc.).
• Maintain and tune Elasticsearch clusters supporting search and indexing workloads.
• Configure and optimize Cloudflare for edge performance, security, and reliability.
• Drive cloud cost efficiency without compromising performance or reliability.
• Partner closely with Product and Engineering teams to support platform needs and roadmap decisions.

Position Overview

We're looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to own and evolve the infrastructure that powers Condukt's distributed systems. You'll sit at the intersection of automation, reliability, developer experience, and security, building the foundations that allow our product teams to ship quickly, safely, and at scale.

As an early-stage, fast-growing company, we value engineers who take ownership, think in systems, and are comfortable operating in ambiguity. In this role, you'll design and maintain the paved roads for our engineers, while also owning reliability, observability, and security across a complex, real-time platform serving regulated financial institutions.

What you bring:

• Hands-on experience securing cloud infrastructure: IAM, secrets management, and vulnerability management

• Solid understanding of observability practices: metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting (OpenTelemetry or similar)

• Comfort owning on-call responsibilities and leading incident management in high-availability systems

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, low-ego mindset

• Ability to operate independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments

Bonus:

• Experience operating and tuning Elasticsearch clusters in production

• Experience working in regulated or security-sensitive environments
