Job summary

VFX Financial is seeking a detail-driven Back-End Software Engineer to join our engineering team and contribute to the core systems powering our global financial infrastructure across currencies, payments, and treasury workflows.

You will design, implement, and test scalable .NET applications, embed security, and work across multi-jurisdiction requirements in a regulated fintech environment while enjoying a hybrid/remote work setup across Portugal.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on .NET development experience.
• Strong proficiency in DDD, CQRS, and clean architecture.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Proficient in NUnit, xUnit and mocking tools (NSubstitute, Moq).
• Strong SQL Server or relational database experience with schema design and optimization.
• Git-based version control and code-review processes.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and test .NET applications with a focus on performance and reliability.
• Maintain and enhance existing applications across the .NET ecosystem.
• Conduct peer code reviews to ensure quality and maintainability.
• Create technical documentation to support onboarding and architecture clarity.
• Embed security principles directly into the codebase and execute risk-aware practices.
• Collaborate with QA in test planning and execution within Agile ceremonies.
