VFX Financial seeks a detail-driven Back-End Software Engineer to join our engineering team and contribute to our global financial infrastructure. You will work across complex domains including multi-currency accounts, payments routing, treasury operations, risk management and API integrations.

This role is suited to someone who builds resilient, secure, and scalable systems for clients across multiple jurisdictions. Hybrid at our Portimão office or fully remote across Portugal.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years hands-on .NET development experience.
• Experience with DDD, CQRS, and clean architecture.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Proficient in NUnit/xUnit and mocking (NSubstitute, Moq).
• Strong SQL Server or relational database experience.
• Experience with Git workflows and code reviews.
• Experience in agile delivery environments.
• DevOps pipelines and GitHub Actions usage.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and test high-quality .NET applications focusing on performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Produce clean, maintainable code aligned with engineering standards.
• Maintain and enhance existing applications for resilience and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with QA teams on test planning and execution.
• Embed security principles directly into the codebase.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and strive for predictable delivery.
