Visma Proceedo AB is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Mobile to own and advance the React Native mobile app for Bokio. You will lead the platform's architecture, tooling, and engineering practices, enabling teams to deliver mobile features faster and more reliably.

About the Product and the Role

Bokio is on a mission to make the world a better place for small businesses. We want to make it super easy for everyone to run a business through automation of financial services, accounting, payments and taxes.

Our mobile app is an important part of the Bokio experience, enabling customers to manage their business on the go.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Mobile to strengthen our mobile engineering capability and take a leading role in maintaining and evolving the technical foundations of our mobile app.

In this role, you will take ownership of our React Native application while strengthening the platform, architecture, tooling, and engineering practices that make mobile development reliable, sustainable, and enjoyable for other engineers.

You'll work closely with multiple product teams as they build mobile functionality, not as a member of a product trio but as the platform expert who helps make mobile delivery faster and safer. You will use signals from product usage and delivery data to prioritise platform and tooling investments, focusing on what improves teams' ability to deliver what matters on mobile.

• You will be part of the Frontend Platform team, which owns the foundations for both mobile application and web frontend development. Within the team, you will take primary responsibility for the infrastructure and technical foundations of our mobile application.

• You will take a leading role in developing, maintaining, and evolving our React Native app across iOS and Android.

• You will maintain and evolve our mobile architecture, tooling, dependencies, and development environment, ensuring the platform remains reliable, maintainable, and easy to work with.

• You will enhance the mobile developer experience and enable engineers across our product teams, including those without deep mobile expertise, to confidently build and deliver mobile features.

• You will collaborate with product teams when designing and delivering mobile functionality.

• You have deep expertise in mobile application development and hands-on experience with mobile development infrastructure.

• You genuinely care about improving both the developer experience (DX) and end-user experience (UX).

• You are comfortable going deep into infrastructure, tooling, and automation to enable engineers without deep mobile expertise to confidently build and deliver mobile features.

• You enjoy collaborating across teams, sharing knowledge, and helping other engineers deliver mobile features while staying hands-on when needed.

• You think critically about the technologies and approaches you use, evaluate trade-offs, and make informed, pragmatic decisions.

• You are proactive and autonomous, continuously identifying opportunities to improve the mobile platform, developer experience, and end-user experience.

• You have a curious, growth-oriented mindset and are always looking for opportunities to learn and improve.

• You’re a strong communicator, confident in both spoken and written English.

What you bring to the table:

• You are highly skilled in mobile application development, tooling, and architecture, with strong proficiency in React Native and TypeScript, experience maintaining and integrating native modules, and a deep understanding of the React Native and Expo ecosystem.

• You have experience applying AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Copilot, Claude Code) to improve developer velocity and code quality, particularly in lowering the barrier for engineers without deep mobile expertise to contribute.

• You understand the end-to‑end mobile application lifecycle, including development, testing, CI/CD, build, release, monitoring, and App Store and Google Play distribution.

Bonus Points (Nice to Have):

• You have experience in a Tech Lead, Software Architect, or mentoring role.

• You have proficiency in web frontend development, Azure Pipelines, MobX, C#, .NET, or SQL.

• You have knowledge of accessibility best practices.

• You have experience running a small business or familiarity with accounting, banking, or fintech.
