Job summary

Capgemini Portugal is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to own end-to-end deployment and lifecycle of ML/AI in production. You will design CI/CD pipelines, continuous training, and scalable model serving while collaborating with Data Science, Data Engineering and Product teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Software Engineering, ML Engineering or MLOps.
• 2+ years deploying ML models in production.
• Production-quality Python with testing, packaging and API design.
• Experience integrating ML models into business-critical systems.
• Knowledge of end-to-end ML lifecycle: governance, monitoring and retraining.
• Collaborates across Data Science, Data Engineering and Product teams.
• Experience with high availability and scalable systems.
• Familiarity with LLMs and Generative AI is valued.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end deployment, operation and lifecycle of ML/AI in production.
• Design and maintain CI/CD, continuous training, model serving and monitoring.
• Transform prototypes into scalable APIs and services.
• Integrate ML models into business systems with performance and reliability.
• Build feature pipelines, model registries and reusable MLOps tooling.
• Implement drift monitoring, alerting and incident management.
• Drive deployment strategies including shadow, canary and champion-challenger releases.
• Support production LLM/agent solutions with evaluation and guardrails.
• Manage AI workload costs, latency and platform dependencies.
• Define engineering standards and mentor ML Engineers and Data Scientists.
