Job summary

Wire IT, based in Porto, Portugal, seeks a Machine Learning Engineer to join a hybrid team. The role focuses on deploying and operating ML models in production, using Python, MLflow, Azure ML, and modern MLOps practices.

You will work across full model lifecycles, from experimentation to monitoring, with a strong emphasis on code quality and collaboration. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in software or ML engineering, hands-on production experience, and fluent English.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Software Engineering or Machine Learning Engineering with hands-on production deployment.
• Strong Python skills including testing, packaging, API development, and code quality.
• Solid experience with MLOps, including MLflow, model registries, CI/CD pipelines, and reproducible ML workflows.
• Experience with batch and real-time model serving, model lifecycle management, retraining, and rollback strategies.
• Strong knowledge of model monitoring, drift detection, alerting, and performance optimization.
• Experience with Azure, containerization, distributed processing using Spark, and Infrastructure as Code concepts.
• Understanding of LLMOps, model evaluation, prompt management, tracing, and AI guardrails is a plus.
• Knowledge of Kafka, Terraform, Azure ML, and Feature Stores is valued.
• Experience with LLM applications in production or in payments, fraud, credit, or fintech environments is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Fluent English mandatory.
