Job summary

Inetum Portugal is seeking a Senior Mainframe COBOL Developer (French Speaker) to join an international project focused on evolving critical mainframe applications. You will work with COBOL on Mainframe, DB2, TSO and z/OS, collaborating with business and technical stakeholders.

The role requires independent, proactive work, strong communication, and experience with API integration, MySQL, Eclipse, and JIRA within Agile/Scrum teams. French and English at B2 level or higher are mandatory.

Qualifications

Proven experience in COBOL development on Mainframe environments.
Strong knowledge of DB2, TSO, z/OS, and Mainframe architecture.
Experience with API integration and system interoperability.
Good knowledge of MySQL, Eclipse, and JIRA.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Ability to work independently and proactively in complex environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
French and English proficiency at B2 level or higher (mandatory).

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and enhance COBOL applications in a Mainframe environment.
Analyze functional and technical requirements and propose appropriate solutions.
Design, implement, and integrate APIs between systems.
Work with DB2 and MySQL databases, ensuring performance, stability, and reliability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams following Agile methodologies.
Ensure code quality, troubleshoot issues, and provide ongoing application support.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
