Job summary

Aubay Portugal is seeking an experienced Java/Full Stack Engineer to join our Lisbon team. You will participate in the full lifecycle of application modernization, from analysis to implementation, delivering REST APIs and transforming systems into microservices.

You will work with distributed systems, containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) and apply CI/CD and DevOps practices. English (B2) and French (B1) required, with a proactive technical leadership mindset.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on Java / Full Stack engineering experience.
• Strong in Java 7-21, Spring Boot and Spring Framework.
• Experience in application modernization and legacy code remediation.
• Proficient in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and container tech.
• Familiar with AI-assisted development tools.
• Fluent English (B2) and French (B1) with good communication.
• Alignment with integrity and ethics; strong customer focus and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Participate in full lifecycle of application modernization initiatives from analysis to implementation.
• Lead technical analysis of existing apps, including effort estimation and planning.
• Modernize legacy Java apps, develop REST APIs and transform to microservices.
• Work with distributed systems, Docker/Kubernetes, and apply CI/CD and DevOps.
• Leverage AI tools like GitHub Copilot to accelerate development.
• Provide technical guidance, identify issues, and propose improvements for delivery.
