Ytech in Portugal is seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer to design, develop, and evolve scalable backend services for complex retail processes. You will work on order orchestration, inventory visibility, fulfilment, returns, and payments flows in cloud-native environments.

You should have 5+ years of hands-on Java experience, strong Java 21 and Spring expertise, and a proven track record with microservices, API-first design, OpenAPI, and AWS.

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Java software engineer.
• Strong Java 21 and Spring Framework expertise.
• Experience with microservices, API-first design, and event-driven patterns.
• Hands-on with OMS and omni-channel retail environments.
• Cloud-native development on AWS with Docker/Kubernetes.
• RESTful APIs designed with OpenAPI; JSON/XML data exchange.
• Knowledge of OAuth2/OIDC security basics and IAM concepts.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL, MongoDB).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitLab.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

We are looking for a Senior Java Software Engineer with strong experience in Java-based microservices, cloud-native environments, and omni-channel retail and Order Management Systems.

You will work on the design, development, integration, and evolution of scalable backend solutions supporting critical retail processes such as order orchestration, inventory visibility, fulfilment, returns, and payment flows.

What we value in you:

• At least 5 years of professional experience as a Java Software Engineer.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Java 21 and the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, and Spring Cloud.
• Proven experience developing microservices-based solutions using event-driven architectures and API-first principles.
• Experience working with Order Management Systems (OMS) and omni-channel retail environments.
• Hands-on experience with Fluent Commerce is highly valued.
• Strong experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Experience working with JSON, XML, HTTP, and GraphQL.
• Good understanding of omni-retail and e-commerce processes, including order lifecycle, inventory visibility, fulfilment, returns, and payment flows.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL and MongoDB.
• Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and cloud-native environments.
• Experience working with AWS services and architectures.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly using GitLab.
• Experience with event messaging systems and integration patterns such as AWS SQS, Solace, and Pub/Sub architectures.
• Knowledge of security best practices including OAuth2, OIDC, and IAM solutions such as Keycloak and Okta.
• Experience with development, monitoring, code quality, and testing tools such as IntelliJ, Maven, Git, GitLab, SonarQube, Snyk, Datadog, Insomnia, and Robot Framework.
• Experience working with the Atlassian Suite, particularly Jira and Confluence.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with multinational and cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
