Securecell AG invites a Senior Java Software Engineer to join our biotech software team in Lisbon. You will lead backend development, shaping bioprocess software and web applications that support our Seraccess platform and related technologies.

You will collaborate across international teams, ensure code quality, and stay ahead with modern backend practices. A hybrid work model and a focus on innovation characterize our environment.

Qualificações

• 7+ years of Java development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Spring framework and RESTful services.
• Experience delivering large projects with multiple SCRUM teams.
• Knowledge of database development (JDBC/Hibernate/JPA) is advantageous.
• Frontend tech knowledge (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Vue.js) is a plus.
• Experience with automation protocols and (bio-)process engineering is advantageous.
• Proficiency with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Experience with Atlassian tools is welcome.
• English language required; valid work permit for Portugal.

Our software engineers develop next-generation technologies that change how biopharma digitizes and automates bioprocess development to fulfill its purpose and bring highly demanded new medications to patients. Lucullus® and our Web-Applications are constantly being developed and improved as they need to handle different kinds of information from innumerable sources within highly complex and constantly evolving environments. We aim to maintain this leading position and stand out significantly from all other bioprocess solutions.

YOUR PROFILE

Among your responsibilities, you will:

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the development team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee and engage in the entire software development lifecycle, from requirement analysis and design to development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and quality guidelines in backend development activities.
• Stay updated with emerging trends, technologies, and methodologies in backend development, and incorporate relevant advancements into project strategies.

Among your skills and qualifications, you bring:

• • 7+ years of experience in Java development.
  • Very good knowledge of the Spring framework and RESTful services.
  • Experience working on big projects with multiple SCRUM teams.
  • Knowledge of database development is advantageous (JDBC/Hibernate/JPA).
  • Knowledge of frontend technologies (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Vue.js) is a plus.
  • Experience with automation/communication protocols, as well as (bio-)process engineering, is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with the Atlassian tool suite is highly welcomed.
  • You are goal-oriented, work well independently, use your strong problem-solving skills in collaboration with the team, and communicate well in an international and intercultural setting.
  • English is required.
  • Valid work permit for Portugal.
