Job summary

Vuejobs is seeking an experienced Java Engineer to join an agile, collaborative team building Java/Spring Boot/Vue.js solutions. You will contribute across the stack with strong ownership and influence on design and engineering standards.

This is a hands-on role with technical depth, where you will design, develop, test, review code, and mentor junior engineers, while supporting secure coding practices and efficient release processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial experience with Java & Spring.
• Experience with a modern frontend framework (Vue.js or similar).
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs.
• Solid experience with automated testing (unit & integration).
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Drone).
• Agile environments with short delivery cycles.
• Proficient Git and modern codebase management practices.
• Focus on code quality, security, and performance.
• Experience reviewing code and giving constructive feedback.
• Strong problem-solving and ownership mindset.
• Clear communicator with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong English communication, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java & Spring Boot, with exposure to Vue.js.
• Write and maintain a strong automated test suite (unit, integration, end-to-end).
• Participate in code reviews to ensure quality, performance, and maintainability.
• Contribute to service and feature design discussions.
• Debug and resolve complex issues in distributed systems.
• Follow secure coding, CI/CD, source control, and release best practices.
• Coach and mentor junior engineers to raise the overall quality bar.
• Provide predominantly 3rd-line support when required.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to continuously improve ways of working.
