Vigil365 Limited in Portugal is seeking an experienced Java Engineer to join a collaborative, agile team delivering Java/Spring Boot and Vue.js solutions. You will contribute across the stack, own features, and influence engineering standards.

This hands-on role emphasizes secure coding, automated testing, CI/CD, code reviews, and mentoring junior engineers while collaborating with product stakeholders and engineering leadership.

Qualificações

• 5+ years of commercial Java experience
• Frontend exposure with Vue.js or similar
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs
• Experience with automated testing (unit & integration)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Drone)
• Agile environment with short delivery cycles
• Proficient with Git and codebase management
• Focus on code quality, security, and performance
• Experience reviewing code and giving feedback
• Strong problem-solving and ownership mentality
• Clear communicator with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Excellent English communication skills

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services with Java & Spring Boot with frontend exposure
• Write and maintain automated test suites (unit/integration/E2E)
• Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and performance
• Contribute to service and feature design discussions
• Debug and resolve issues in distributed systems
• Follow secure coding, CI/CD, source control, and release practices
• Mentor junior engineers to raise quality
• Provide 3rd-line support when required
• Collaborate with leadership to improve ways of working
