Job summary

Decskill, a growing IT consulting company, seeks a Senior Data Developer to build real-time reporting applications in Lisbon using Java, Spring, and modern frameworks. You will participate in SDLC, ensure high data quality, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across regulatory and monitoring domains.

You will also contribute to production support, release management, and performance improvements, with opportunities in an Astek Group context and international exposure.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Java software development experience.
• Strong Java 8+ and Spring Framework knowledge.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency with Maven, Git and Shell scripting.
• Experience with Angular or React and front-end integration.
• Experience with Unit, Integration and End-to-End testing.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Familiarity with reporting systems and BI platforms.
• Agile development experience and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain real-time client reporting applications for regulatory and monitoring purposes.
• Deliver scalable, high-performance software using Java and modern development frameworks.
• Participate in the full SDLC, including analysis, design, development, testing, documentation, and code reviews.
• Ensure timely delivery of features with high data quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with Production Support for releases and maintenance.
• Work with business users to gather and clarify requirements.
• Provide L3 production support for complex issues when required.
• Contribute to performance, maintainability, and software quality improvements.
• Develop backend services using Java, Spring Framework and Batch processing.
• Support frontend integrations with Angular and React applications.

We are looking for an Senior Data Developer!

Responsabilities:

• Develop and maintain real-time client reporting applications for regulatory and monitoring purposes.
• Deliver high-quality, scalable, and high-performance software solutions using Java and modern development frameworks.
• Participate in the full Agile Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including technical analysis, solution design, development, testing, documentation, and code reviews.
• Ensure timely delivery of features while maintaining high standards of data quality and application reliability.
• Collaborate with Production Support teams to support application releases, deployments, and ongoing maintenance.
• Work closely with business users to gather and clarify functional requirements.
• Provide Level 3 (L3) production support, troubleshooting complex application issues when required.
• Contribute to continuous improvements in application performance, maintainability, and software quality.
• Develop and maintain backend services using Java, Spring Framework, and Batch processing technologies.
• Support frontend integrations with Angular and React-based applications.

Requirements:

Technical Skills

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Java Software Development.
• Strong experience with Java 8+.
• Experience with Spring Framework (Spring Core, Spring IoC, Spring Batch).
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and development tools such as Maven and Git.
• Experience with Shell Scripting.
• Experience with Angular and/or React.
• Experience in software testing, including Unit Testing, Integration Testing, and End-to-End (E2E) Testing.
• Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
• Knowledge of reporting systems and Business Intelligence platforms.
• Strong understanding of software quality, scalability, and performance best practices.
• Experience working within Agile development environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience in Corporate & Investment Banking, particularly Cash Equities.
• Experience developing regulatory reporting or financial reporting applications.
• Familiarity with production support and release management processes.
