Job summary

Devoteam is seeking a skilled Backend Java/ServiceNow Consultant to join our international teams. You will design and implement scalable Java backends with Spring Boot, APIs, and data platforms, while collaborating with frontend teams and DevOps in a remote-capable setting.

You will also design ServiceNow configurations, integrations, and customizations, guiding junior staff and ensuring quality through testing. Fluency in English is essential as we operate across multiple regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of backend development experience with Java.
• Strong experience with Spring / Spring Boot.
• Proven experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Solid experience with MongoDB and Elasticsearch.
• Experience with large-scale or data-intensive systems.
• Familiarity with React.js or frontend tech (nice to have).
• Experience with Git and collaborative workflows.
• Experience in Agile environments.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written).
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote setup.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and implement ServiceNow solutions per business requirements.
• Translate business needs into scalable technical configurations and designs.
• Customize the platform following best practices and coding standards.
• Develop integrations with third-party systems (REST, SOAP, file-based transfers).
• Deliver well-documented, tested customizations including unit/structured testing.
• Mentor junior team members and flag risks and dependencies.
• Identify risks or improvement opportunities within scope of work.
