Mastercard in Lisbon is seeking a Senior Java Backend Engineer to design and deliver scalable microservice-based backend systems. You will collaborate with product and security teams to build secure, high-quality services using Java, Spring and RESTful APIs.

You will own delivery tasks from design through test and deployment, participate in code reviews, and promote engineering best practices across the team. Excellent English communication and a proactive, collaborative mindset are essential.

Qualificações

• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong backend experience with Java and Spring.
• Proficient in RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Experience with unit and integration testing.

Responsabilidades

• Participate in team prioritization with Product/Business stakeholders.
• Estimate and own delivery tasks from design to deployment.
• Drive code/design/process trade-offs within the team.
• Apply engineering principles to write high-quality secure code.
• Report status and manage risks for the primary service.
• Lead demos and knowledge sharing to drive reuse of patterns.
