Siemens Energy is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join the IoT team in Portugal. You will ensure the availability, reliability, and security of a production IoT platform spanning AWS cloud and edge deployments, while driving automation and DevOps excellence.

You will collaborate with global teams to advance AI-driven operations, API lifecycle management, and self-healing workflows, contributing to Siemens Energy’s digital transformation in manufacturing.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or similar roles, with strong expertise in AWS.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD, Git, Infrastructure-as-Code (AWS CDK and CloudFormation), and automation-focused environments.
• Strong Linux administration, Python scripting, Bash scripting, containerization, and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with API operations, cloud security, vulnerability management, and distributed system support.
• Exposure to Agentic AI, workflow automation, and intelligent orchestration solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work independently in a global environment.
• Experience supporting IoT, manufacturing, or industrial digitalization platforms.
• Knowledge of edge computing architectures and containerized workloads.
• Experience designing AI-powered operational automation and self-healing systems.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of the IoT platform across AWS and edge environments, while managing the lifecycle of production APIs and factory-facing services.
• Design and implement AI-driven automation, self-healing capabilities, intelligent workflows, and agent-based orchestration to improve operational efficiency.
• Drive DevOps best practices through CI/CD optimization, Infrastructure-as-Code (CDK/CloudFormation), and deployment automation.
• Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, vulnerability remediation, and operational improvements to maintain stable production environments.
• Support containerized edge deployments and maintain technical documentation, architecture standards, and operational runbooks.

As a Senior Professional within the IoT team, you will ensure the availability, stability, and operational integrity of a business-critical IoT platform that supports digital manufacturing across factory environments. You will work across AWS cloud and edge deployments, driving platform reliability, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This role focuses on advancing platform capabilities through AI-driven automation, API lifecycle management, DevOps excellence, and operational support. You will collaborate with global teams to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient solutions while contributing to Siemens Energy’s digital transformation journey.

How You’ll Make An Impact
