Job summary

Nscale is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Operations Engineer in Portugal to oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex data centre systems. You will lead major infrastructure projects, act as SME in critical support scenarios, and shape operational standards across the team.

The role requires 6+ years of infrastructure experience, strong leadership, and advanced certifications. You will mentor the operations group, engage with customers on key projects, and travel to

• Deep knowledge of data centre architecture, cloud platforms, and disaster recovery planning.
• Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis expertise.
• Proven leadership and project management skills.
• 6+ years of experience with a focus on infrastructure design and management.
• Higher-level Advanced certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex data centre systems.
• Lead large-scale infrastructure projects and evaluate emerging technologies.
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in high priority technical customer service scenarios.
• Define operational standards, policies, and best practices.
• Act as a SME in high-stakes technical scenarios and incidents.
• Provide mentorship and technical leadership to the operations team.
• Conduct performance reviews and assist in strategic planning for future infrastructure needs.
• Engage directly with customers on key projects, escalations or service delivery improvements.
• Travel to additional DCs to manage deployments, assess operations and ensure alignment with Organisational objectives

About The Role

We’re looking for an Engineer that has exceptional people, leadership & technical skills.
