Aubay Portugal is seeking a senior AI/ML-focused software engineer for a hybrid role in Lisbon or Porto. You will research, test, and develop AI-powered solutions, design AI agents, and optimize token usage across implementations.

The position requires 6+ years as software/web developer or ML consultant, with Node.js or Python proficiency, experience in RAG systems, and vector databases. English and French at C1 are valued.

What will you do?

• Research, test, and develop innovative AI-powered solutions and applications.
• Design, create, and deploy advanced AI agents.
• Optimize token usage across AI implementations to ensure cost-efficiency.
• Maintain and evolve Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems.
• Develop and manage vector databases and embedding solutions for semantic search.
• Integrate and orchestrate multiple Large Language Model (LLM) providers.

What are we looking for?

At Aubay, our focus is on professionals who bring both technical expertise and the right mindset:

• Solid experience (6+ years) as a Software/Web Developer or Machine Learning Consultant.
• Proficiency in Node.js or Python for AI development.
• Hands‑on experience with AI agent creation and deployment, including RAG systems implementation.
• Experience with hash context management, optimization, and vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma).
• Knowledge of embeddings, semantic search technologies, and prompt engineering for token optimization.
• Proven ability to integrate multiple LLM providers (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google).
• Advanced proficiency in English and French (C1 level).

• Available to work Hybrid (2 times a week) in Lisbon or Porto.
