Job summary

Founded in 2008 and based in Lisbon, KCS IT is a consulting company focusing on IT and services. We are seeking a Senior FinOps Technical Expert to lead cloud cost optimization efforts and advising product teams on cloud architecture across Azure, AWS and GCP.

The role is hybrid in Lisbon with on-site presence two days per week. You will drive budgeting, forecasting and governance, collaborate with engineering and product teams, and translate cost data into actionable insights for management.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of IT and cloud operations experience.
• Strong FinOps and cloud cost optimization expertise.
• Deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure; AWS/GCP experience a plus.
• Experience analyzing cloud spend and giving technical recommendations.
• Knowledge of cloud architecture, sizing, allocation and cost-efficient design.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost allocation and governance.

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical advisor to product teams on cloud architecture and cost optimization.
• Analyze cloud spending and usage across Azure and other clouds to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Challenge infrastructure decisions and collaborate with engineering to implement cost-effective solutions.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cost optimization targets.
• Improve cost visibility via reporting, dashboards and financial accountability.
• Present findings and recommendations to technical teams and senior management.
• Use IBM Cloudability and Power BI to automate cost monitoring and reporting.
• Implement FinOps policies and governance aligned with standards.
• Support product management with cost allocation and recharge mechanisms.
• Monitor pricing trends and evaluate new platform capabilities for improvements.
