Hovione in Portugal is seeking an experienced Engineering Project Leader to drive major capital projects from concept to handover. You will lead project engineers, manage budgets, schedules, and governance, and ensure GMP, safety and quality compliance across facilities and utilities.

The role requires a mechanical/electrical/instrumentation background, proven leadership, strong communication, and fluency in English. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualificações

• Degree in Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience leading teams on GMP projects.
• Strong safety and environmental knowledge with budgeting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to manage complex processes and tools.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the delivery of major engineering and capital projects from concept and feasibility through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Develop and execute project strategies, ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, on time and within agreed budgets.
• Lead a team of project engineers and technical professionals, providing direction, coaching, development and performance management.
• Manage multiple complex projects and priorities across facilities, utilities, manufacturing equipment and site infrastructure.
• Provide strong technical leadership across engineering design, specification, procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
• Manage internal and external stakeholders, including Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, EHS, Finance, contractors and specialist engineering partners.
• Establish and manage project governance, including scope, schedules, budgets, risks, change control and project reporting.
• Ensure projects comply with GMP, regulatory, safety, environmental and engineering standards, with appropriate documentation and qualification throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead the selection and management of engineering consultants, contractors and suppliers, ensuring delivery against technical, commercial, quality and safety requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement and project delivery excellence, capturing lessons learned and improving engineering standards, processes and ways of working.
