Hovione is a global CDMO seeking a seasoned engineering project leader in the Lisbon area to drive major capital projects from concept through commissioning. You will build strategies, manage budgets, and lead a team of engineers and professionals.

The role requires GMP experience, strong communication, and the ability to coordinate with Operations, Quality, and external partners. We value collaboration, safety and continuous improvement.

Qualificações

• Engineering degree required in related field.
• Proven experience leading projects in GMP environments.
• Strong budgeting, scheduling and governance skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to manage complex processes and tools.
• Fluency in English.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental standards.

Responsabilidades

• Lead delivery of major engineering and capital projects from concept to handover.
• Develop and execute project strategies, ensuring safety, compliance, on time and within budgets.
• Lead a team of project engineers, providing direction and performance management.
• Manage multiple complex projects across facilities, utilities and site infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership across design, procurement, construction and commissioning.
• Manage internal and external stakeholders (Operations, Engineering, Quality, etc.).
• Establish project governance with scope, schedules, budgets, risks and reporting.
• Ensure GMP, regulatory and safety standards are met with proper documentation.

You will be responsible to:

• Lead the delivery of major engineering and capital projects from concept and feasibility through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Develop and execute project strategies, ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, on time and within agreed budgets.
• Lead a team of project engineers and technical professionals, providing direction, coaching, development and performance management.
• Manage multiple complex projects and priorities across facilities, utilities, manufacturing equipment and site infrastructure.
• Provide strong technical leadership across engineering design, specification, procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
• Manage internal and external stakeholders, including Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, EHS, Finance, contractors and specialist engineering partners.
• Establish and manage project governance, including scope, schedules, budgets, risks, change control and project reporting.
• Ensure projects comply with GMP, regulatory, safety, environmental and engineering standards, with appropriate documentation and qualification throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead the selection and management of engineering consultants, contractors and suppliers, ensuring delivery against technical, commercial, quality and safety requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement and project delivery excellence, capturing lessons learned and improving engineering standards, processes and ways of working.

We are looking to recruit a Candidate:

• Degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic or Instrumentation, or related field.
• Proven experience in leading others in project context within a GMP envoirnment
• Possess extensive knowledge of industrial / lab safety and environment and of budget control principles and practices and is able to effectively share them with others
• Good communication skills (verbal and written)
• Skilled at managing complex processes and tools
• Fluency in English is a requirement
• Must have the Knowledge, Experience and Skills to conduct their tasks in accordance with the rules and procedures set down.
