Job summary

DataSmart is seeking a Database Administrator in Lisbon to provide specialized support for Oracle, MySQL, and Exadata environments. You will manage OCI databases, resolve incidents, and contribute to database projects while ensuring optimal performance and security.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in database administration, strong Oracle skills, and are willing to work in a hybrid model with on-site days in Lisbon and participate in a 24/7 on-call schedule.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in Database Administration.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience with MySQL database administration.
• Knowledge of Oracle RAC.
• Knowledge of Oracle Data Guard.
• Knowledge of Oracle Exadata - differentiator.
• Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) - differentiator.
• Strong understanding of database performance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of database security standards and best practices.
• Ability to contribute to database projects and process improvements.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Willingness to continuously learn and update technical knowledge.
• Oracle certifications are a plus.
• Postgraduate degree in a relevant field is a plus.
• Portuguese: Native.
• Availability to work in a hybrid model, with at least 2 days per week onsite in the Lisbon metropolitan area.
• Availability to participate in a 24/7 rotating on-call schedule.
• Must have a valid work permit or EU/Schengen nationality allowing legal employment in Portugal.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized technical support for Database Administration services, mainly Oracle, MySQL, and Exadata.
• Respond to and resolve database-related incidents, problems, and technical queries.
• Manage and maintain databases in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Contribute to the implementation and support of database-related projects.
• Monitor database environments and troubleshoot day-to-day performance and operational issues.
• Ensure databases maintain optimal performance, availability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with different teams supporting applications and software dependent on databases.
• Implement database best practices, process improvements, and operational standards.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and database procedures when required.
• Follow established security standards and best practices for database administration.
• Provide effective technical communication and collaborate with team members across ongoing operations and projects.
• Perform ongoing operational and maintenance tasks.
• Participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call support schedule.
