Axians Portugal seeks a Senior Datacenter Engineer to manage datacenter infrastructure and provide advanced technical support for international clients. You will perform VM operations, patching, backups, and lifecycle management, ensuring system health and uptime.

Ideal candidates have extensive experience with Cisco networking, VMware virtualization, NetApp storage, and Windows servers, plus fluent English and strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced transformation environment.

Qualificações

• Fluent English (written and spoken) is required.
• Degree in Telecommunications/Network Engineering or related field.
• Experience with Cisco networking, VMware virtualization, NetApp storage and backup solutions.

Responsabilidades

• Perform system management and maintenance for datacenter infrastructure for Axians Netherlands clients.
• Check system health and perform corrective actions.
• Create/modify VMs, perform VMotion, manage users, restore backups, patch OS.
• Interpret alarms from monitoring tools and act promptly.
• Conduct on-site maintenance and project work such as cabling and hardware replacement.
• Analyze incidents and communicate status and needs.
• Carry out lifecycle management tasks including firmware updates and Windows server patching.

Senior Datacenter Engineer

What You Will Do On a Daily Basis

• Performing system management and maintenance activities and provide second and third-line (technical) service support to Axians Netherlands clients;
• System management focused on datacenter infrastructure components in the customers’ architecture, and activities;
• Checking system health and performing corrective actions;
• Performing standard or standardised changes, such as creating or modifying VM’s, Vmotion, user management, restore backups, OS patching;
• Understanding alarms/events generated by system monitoring software (currently Solarwinds, future Logic Monitoring), timely performing corrective actions;
• Performing on-site maintenance and/or project work such as cabling/patching, replacing of expanding hardware and/or components (eg. Memory, disks, CPU);
• Analysing/resolving incidents logged by the customer and communicating about status, resolution, or additional requirements.
• Carry out lifecycle management tasks (patching of hardware components, firmware, and Windows servers.

Your Key Skills

• Degree in Telecommunications/Network Engineering or a related field;
• Experience with Cisco Catalyst, Cisco Nexus and MDS;
• Experience with Server hardware Cisco UCS and Server virtualisation VMware (ESXi, Vcenter);
• Experience with Storage NetApp and Backup and restore CommVault;
• Experience with Security products TrendMicro Deep Security;
• Experience with Windows server, Active Directory, DNS, GPO and WSUS, etc;
• Experience with Vmware and Microsoft Certfied Administrator;
• Fluent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
