Job summary

Axians Portugal is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a leading international banking environment. You will design and implement data architectures, develop high-performance data pipelines, and support BI solutions for Risk Reporting & Analytics.

You will collaborate with Risk, Finance, and IT teams, mentor juniors, participate in Agile ceremonies, and contribute to CI/CD, data models, and documentation, while leveraging Dataiku, SQL, Python, and PySpark.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of professional Data Engineer experience.
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools such as Alteryx or Talend.
• Hands-on SQL, Python and/or PySpark, plus Apache NiFi.
• Dataiku knowledge is highly valued; SAS/Power BI/Tableau a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-performance ETL/ELT data pipelines feeding Data Warehouses.
• Build scalable data integration solutions using modern data engineering practices.
• Implement CI/CD flow automation and support deployment across environments.
• Design and optimize data models, schemas, and BI-ready architectures.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to translate requirements into data solutions.
• Mentor junior team members and share knowledge with stakeholders.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge repositories.
