Shakers in Lisbon is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own end-to-end cloud native data pipelines on a Microsoft stack (Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Synapse). You will design, build, and optimise data platforms, driving DevOps/DataOps and progressively stepping into data product ownership.

Qualificações

• Minimum 5 years in data engineering with focus on cloud native solutions and data architecture.
• Hands on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, and Synapse (AWS/GCP equivalents acceptable).
• Experience with data warehousing and data lake solutions (Azure Data Lake, Delta Lake, BigQuery, Redshift).
• Python (Pandas, Boto3), SQL, or Spark.

Responsabilidades

• Design and implement end to end cloud native data pipelines, including Medallion style architectures.
• Optimise pipelines and storage for performance, cost, and reliability.
• Implement data validation, lineage, documentation, and monitoring at scale.
• Drive DevOps and DataOps practices, including CI/CD.
• Mentor mid and junior engineers and enforce engineering standards.
• Progressively take on product ownership and stakeholder facing work.

Opportunity to build cloud native data pipelines on a Microsoft stack (Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Synapse) for a global technology organization, working from Lisbon in a hybrid model.

The challenge

The data platform is moving from delivery to product. You will own end to end architecture (ingestion, modelling, storage, orchestration) while raising the engineering bar around it: standards, CI/CD, lineage, monitoring. The role also opens a progressive path towards Data Product Management, so part of the job is translating technical decisions to business stakeholders and taking ownership of what the platform becomes.

• Implement data validation, lineage, documentation, and monitoring at scale.
• Drive DevOps and DataOps practices, including CI/CD.

• Minimum 5 years in data engineering with focus on cloud native solutions and data architecture.
• Hands on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, and Synapse (equivalent AWS or GCP tooling considered).
• Experience with data warehousing and data lake solutions (Azure Data Lake, Delta Lake, BigQuery, Redshift).
• Python (Pandas, Boto3), SQL, or Spark.
• Strong RDBMS (Oracle, MS SQL Server) or NoSQL (MongoDB, ElasticSearch, GBQ) knowledge.
• English at B2 or above.
• Availability to work from Lisbon 2 days per week.

Nice to have

• Genuine interest in moving towards Data Product Management.
• Track record explaining complex engineering trade offs to non technical stakeholders.
