99X Technology is looking for a Data Architecture / Engineering Lead to oversee end-to-end data engineering initiatives in Lisbon. You will lead the design of scalable data platforms, implement complex data solutions, and coordinate teams of data professionals.

Ideal candidates will have over 6 years of experience in data engineering, particularly with Microsoft and Databricks ecosystems. Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and Azure environments is essential. This role also involves involvement in pre-sales activities and bridging technical expertise with business needs.

• At least 5 years experience with Microsoft and/or Databricks ecosystems.
• Proven experience leading technical teams in large, enterprise-grade projects.
• Fluency in English.

We are looking for a Data Architecture / Engineering Lead to join our team and take ownership of end-to-end data engineering initiatives, from architecture design to production delivery.

In this role, you will lead the design and implementation of scalable data platforms and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, enterprise-grade data solutions. You will play a key role in bridging technical expertise with business needs, ensuring the successful execution of complex data projects.

The role combines leadership, data architecture, and hands-on engineering expertise, with a strong focus on cloud-based data platforms and modern data engineering practices.

Responsibilities:

• Design, discuss, estimate, and set up data platform architectures
  
• Define project backlogs, oversee delivery, and report progress
  
• Coordinate teams of data professionals responsible for delivering data workloads
  
• Implement complex data solutions and ensure QA of junior team members
  
• Support pre-sales activities related to data architecture and engineering opportunities
  

Requirements

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
  
• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, with strong exposure to cloud environments
  
• At least 5 years of experience working with Microsoft and/or Databricks-based ecosystems
  
• Proven experience leading technical teams in large, enterprise-grade projects
  
• Strong knowledge of data architecture and infrastructure design
  
• Experience with estimation and DevOps practices
  
• Strong proficiency in:

• Hands-on experience with:
  • Azure Data Factory
    
  • Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)

• Experience delivering production-grade solutions in Azure environments
