Capgemini Portugal is seeking an experienced Data Architect with a strong focus on Microsoft Fabric to strengthen our Data & AI team. The candidate will architect end-to-end data platform solutions, guide technical delivery across projects, and support commercial initiatives by shaping scalable, secure, and cost‑effective architectures for our clients.
YOUR ROLE
- Lead data platform architecture initiatives end‑to‑end, from discovery and design to implementation and operationalization.
- Define target architectures based on Microsoft Fabric components (e.g., OneLake, Lakehouse/Warehouse, Data Engineering, Data Factory, Real‑Time Analytics, Power BI) aligned with business outcomes.
- Guide project delivery teams through architecture decisions, trade‑offs, and technical problem‑solving to ensure quality and scalability.
- Design data integration patterns (batch/streaming), including ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and ELT/ETL best practices.
- Establish data modeling standards (dimensional, data vault, domain‑oriented) and patterns for analytics‑ready datasets.
- Drive governance, security, and compliance architecture (IAM/RBAC, data privacy, lineage, cataloguing, and monitoring).
- Define and implement DevOps/DataOps and CI/CD practices for Fabric workloads (versioning, testing, deployment pipelines).
- Support pre‑sales and commercial initiatives: contribute to solutioning, estimations, proposals, and client workshops; translate requirements into architecture and roadmap.
- Collaborate with broader cloud and data ecosystem teams (Azure services, integration platforms) to deliver coherent solutions.
YOUR PROFILE
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or modern data platform delivery.
- Proven experience designing and implementing solutions on Microsoft Fabric and/or modern Azure data services.
- Strong knowledge of Lakehouse architecture, data warehousing, analytics patterns, data integration/orchestration, performance optimisation, and cost control.
- Deep experience in data governance and security by design (privacy, access control, auditing, lineage).
- Experience with CI/CD and automation for data platforms (Azure DevOps/GitHub; IaC preferred).
- Comfortable engaging with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders and explaining architecture trade‑offs clearly.
- Structured problem‑solving, ownership mindset, and ability to work in ambiguous environments.
- Fluency in Portuguese and English (spoken and written).
- Must have Microsoft certifications (e.g., Fabric, Azure Data Engineer/Architect) and experience with enterprise BI ecosystems (Power BI).
- Experience with data governance tooling (Purview or similar).
