TP Portugal is seeking a Senior BI engineer to own the governed semantic layer for our large, diverse workforce. You will define metrics, datasets, and canonical terms in Unity Catalog, and lead migration of Power BI models to Databricks-native equivalents.
You will partner with our HR data architects and engineers, establish development standards, and drive self-service analytics through training, while upholding data governance, lineage and secure access across the organization.
Every number that decides something about 14,000 people should mean the same thing to everyone who reads it. Making that true is the job.
At TP Portugal, HR already runs on data — hiring, retention, workforce planning, pay. What it needs now is one governed semantic layer underneath all of it. We’re rebuilding that layer on Databricks, migrating our Power BI models and reports domain by domain, and giving business users a way to explore people data on their own, without waiting for someone to build them a report first.
This isn’t a reporting role. You own the definitions — what “attrition” means, what counts as a hire, which dataset is certified — for one of the largest and most diverse workforces in Europe: 14,000 people, dozens of nationalities. You’ll work alongside our HR data scientists: they build the models, you build the trusted ground those models stand on.
If you’d rather own the definitions everyone depends on than build one more dashboard nobody opens — this is that role.
